Who we are

Auto Short is a plugin for Adobe Premiere Pro developed and operated by José Ramón Ruiz Gil ("we", "us"), the data controller. Contact: autoshortmail@gmail.com.

The principle: your video never leaves your PC

Auto Short processes the video, audio, transcription and montage locally on your machine. No video or audio file is uploaded to our servers or to third parties. The only thing that leaves your machine for our service is the transcription text, needed to plan the cuts.

What data we process and on what legal basis

• Transcription text (basis: performance of the contract): to plan the cuts, the plugin sends our service the clip's transcription as text. It is processed in memory and not stored on our systems. It may contain names or other personal data present in the audio; treat it with the same responsibility as your source material.
• License key (basis: performance of the contract): sent with each request to verify your subscription is active and apply the monthly usage limit.
• Device identifier and IP address (basis: legitimate interest in preventing abuse): during the free trial we use an identifier generated on your machine and, transiently, your IP address to enforce the free quota and prevent fraud. We do not use them to profile you.
• Aggregated usage metrics (basis: legitimate interest): we count anonymous funnel events (downloads, trials started, paid calls) in aggregate figures, without identifying you personally.
• Payment and billing data (basis: performance of the contract and legal obligation): handled entirely by our merchant of record, Polar. We do not store card numbers or bank details. See Polar's privacy policy.
• Website analytics (basis: legitimate interest): this site uses Vercel Web Analytics, a cookieless analytics that collects aggregate visit data (page, country, device type) without identifying you individually or tracking you across sites.

Processors and providers

• Polar (payments, billing and license management).
• Anthropic (processing of the transcription text by the AI model; subject to its commercial terms, with no use for model training).
• Vercel (web service infrastructure and site analytics).
• Upstash (usage-limit and trial-quota counter tied to your license or device).

International transfers

Some of these providers are located outside the European Economic Area (e.g. in the USA). Where an international transfer occurs, it is carried out with the appropriate safeguards under the GDPR (such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an applicable adequacy framework).

What we do NOT do

• We do not sell or share your data with third parties for commercial purposes.
• We do not store your videos, audio, transcriptions or cut plans.
• We do not use tracking cookies or advertising on this website.

Retention

Transcriptions are processed and discarded immediately. Usage and trial counters are kept for the current cycle. Customer data (email, invoices) is kept by Polar per its policy and applicable tax law.

Your rights

You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability by writing to autoshortmail@gmail.com. If you reside in the EU, you may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in Spain, the Spanish Data Protection Agency, aepd.es).

Minors

Auto Short is a professional product intended for adults. It is not directed at minors, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date on this page. Material changes will be communicated by email to active customers.
